Strengthening Wellbeing in Our Community Health Center Workforce

Be Well Together aims to support health center staff in connecting with resources to achieve and maintain emotional, physical, financial, and professional wellbeing. Be Well Together (BWT) is an initiative formed through a partnership between the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers and Massachusetts General Hospital. Funded through a three-year grant authorized through the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act.

BWT aims to understand health center staffs’ work environment and to support the implementation resources that promote a culture ofwellness. The concept of wellness goes beyond the absence of illness. Complete wellness encompasses multiple dimensions of health—physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. This comprehensive view recognizes that each aspect of our lives is interconnected, and by nurturing ourselves in all areas, we can achieve true balance and fulfillment.

Why is Fitness Important?

Staying active is an integral part of physical and emotional wellbeing. For staff in healthcare settings, where long shifts and high-stress levels are common, regular physical activity can be difficult. How can you incorporate more physical activity into your daily routine?

The Power of Presence

Including mindfulness in daily life can improve mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.  Mindfulness can also empower individuals to embrace the present and manage stress. By taking moments to pause, breathe, and observe, we may be able to access a sense of peace and clarity that helps us during chaotic times.

Finances

Financial wellness is an important part of living a life that reflects our own personal priorities and goals. By taking steps to assess and improve your financial situation, create a budget, manage debt, and invest for the future, you can develop a sense of financial security that supports your overall wellbeing.
